October 7th- October 11th is Digital Inclusion Week!
Digital Inclusion Week (DIW) is an annual week of awareness, recognition and celebration. DIW is organized by the National Digital Inclusion Alliance (NDIA) and its 1,800+ affiliates nationwide. DIW raises awareness and promotes action for digital equity solutions.
This year’s theme, “Stronger Together: Mobilizing Towards Sustainability,” highlights the power of collaboration in ensuring the longevity of the digital equity movement. By fostering a robust digital inclusion ecosystem that connects digital inclusion initiatives across our communities, we can sustain our movement towards long-term digital inclusion solutions.
With Digital Equity, we all win! To take action and get involved, visit:https://www.digitalinclusion.org/

In partnership with the Chattahoochee Regional Library System and various Albany Tech campuses, ESWGA is working with the Georgia Technology Authority & Inspiredu to host multiple digital literacy training courses to bring digital knowledge to our previously underserved communities. These courses offer gateway skills that give users confidence, allowing them to move forward with education, job opportunities, telehealth, and more.
Empower Southwest Georgia will collaborate with Albany Technical College to bring more Digital Literacy training to Southwest Georgia counties. Our first county of focus is Randolph and training will be held at 241 Hwy 82 East, Cuthbert, GA Albany Tech Campus.
Online enrollment is available for our served counties in Baker, Calhoun, Clay, Dougherty, Randolph, and Terrell. See the flyer below for more enrollment information.
ESWGA has kick started canvassing with a new group called the ESWGA Digital Navigators. Digital Navigators, certified by the state of GA, are helping SW Georgia households get internet connection and / or internet subsidies.
During the COVID crisis, our volunteers canvassed door-to-door to assist seniors and others in our community with getting appointments for the life-saving COVID vaccine. In April, 2021, Dr. Karen Kinsell joined forces with us to hold vaccine clinics and visit homebound neighbors to administer the COVID 19 vaccine.
We believe in partnerships, so we worked with local public health departments... “...community partners are supporting the Health Department by helping residents register for the Covid-19 vaccine.” GA Department of Public Health.
